Here is the e-mail I got after sending 4 before it demanding to know what is being done about the speed issue. I wanted technical facts and instead this is what I got

Good Day Ricardo,

Please be advised that we are still currently addressing
the speed issues on the MyWireless network and that
unfortunately no details regarding the actual
implementations will be made available to the clients. We
are working towards resolving the problem and are on track
to meet the deadline that Sentech made public several
months ago, being the end of August 2004.

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

thats because there is no fancy way to say "actually we are just optimising the network and not really doing anything major". They know by now that we the clients are a pretty smart bunch so they know when to STFU.

Nothing new here.

i was told the same and the added clincher is no ISP will ever give detail to customers ...

that my dear friends is BS i have been given in depth tech info by IS/SAIX/UUnet/Datapro on behalf of customners or myself down to what is broken why and how long to fix ... and ive in most cases been able to call up and speak to the responsible parties afterwards and get a full report ...

its all about customer service we not all perfect and things go wrong and honestey/accountability is important to me i however am lead to belive sentech are incapable of supplying the basic service and dont want us to see how uselesss they are

y is therre a consistent need to say its OK, because other "ISP's" do it, they have now said that as justification about
Contention ratios
AUP/capping
tech info

the funny part is, when rodent spoke to marcelle, he was shocked that rodent reffered to sentech as an ISP (I think his response was that they are just data providers)
/off topic
in regards to giving details on packages, I was looking at some international contended packages, and most had a max, as well as an average attained by most users for each package.
So Sentech, if you want to do things based on other ISP's, heres a start!!

They should learn from other ISP;

here's a here's how UUNET does it ...
http://www.uunet.co.za/_sanetwork/networknotices/networknotices.asp

"The Network Notice board is a valuable tool for our customers and other service providers to quickly ascertain wheter or not we are experiencing any problems.

For your benefit, we have only displayed the most recent notices. Our customers, on the otherhand, can view an archive of all the old notices in order to correlate their downtime with historical events on the UUNET Network. The notice board also always lists our scheduled maintenance."

Can't wait till UUNET offerers similart packages; information like that says to me UUNET cares and respects the customer.
