“Not paying e-tolls does not resolve the issue that the whole GFIP was about – improving infrastructure and boosting the economy and job creation and all of those things,” Van Niekerk said.

... and that kind of stuff. Riiiight.

people don’t like to pay for anything

Wrong, people don't mind paying for things. People don't like being taxed and shafted at every angle... we pay taxes, we pay levies, we pay we pay we pay... we've paid for the roads and maintenance ten fold... why must we pay again? Its not our fault all the money gets looted by the anc parasites. Get it back.

Exactly e-toll roads make for 1% of the total tolled system but the expected revenue from this was more than 34% and now they can't build more roads for the rest of the country...because "stubborn" Gauteng motorists are not keen to indefinitely fund all roads and cronyism in between.

“Because of the current state of the project, over 150km of new roads are not even on the map anymore. So the reality is starting to set it. Not paying e-tolls doesn’t solve the problem for the need of new infrastructure...R130 billion of planned new toll projects for the whole country are now also on ice, because there is no way to fund them."

Not paying E-Tolls ensures that Gauteng motorists don't line 34% of Sanral's pockets! I also love how they explain that the good that E-Tolls have done = open roads...wonder if they even travel on N1/N3 on a daily basis?

and Sanral is no closer to finding a way forward for the controversial system

That just sounds like any other current SOE!

The lesson Sanral still needs to learn is that in a democracy the citizens' opinion count, we don't have to obey some Schutzstaffel Nazi Ali..

Also, we don't need to vote for the skelm ANC again, how about letting someone intelligent run these places with the public in mind for a change?
