So I was doing a factory reset on one of the shroud devices at work and to my surprise I saw that we now have access to Google Play Movies! :D uploadfromtaptalk1455745993331.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1455746002486.jpg

Here's hoping it stays :D. Now where are the series...

My Google Play Music trial was rubbish and not even worth R50pm, so I'm not convinced by Google's entertainment offerings just yet.

Really? I'm using it over the local Simfy service. Works well on the MyGica as well.

The web interface is very buggy in Firefox, and all the tracks have been equalised for bass response. Basically ruins every track that isn't bass heavy in nature.

Why not rather do a service like Netflix? They already have a great platform to launch it on called Youtube? Make a paid service (ad free) and a free or cheaper version (with ads).

Really? I'm loving it. And as someone else mentioned - the ability to download offline songs is great. Library seems much better than Simfy too.

I looked at Netflix. We're using ShowMax. Google Play Music allows me to stream any song, and also keep my library on my phone. Works well for me.

Sure .... but I am referring to the movies and tv shows part of it.

All the streaming services let you download playlists for offline listening. Not much of a feature at this point.

Simfy is the worst of the lot. A real shame considering their relationship with Afrihost. Spotify destroys the competition though with the size of their US catalogue, the quality of their apps and the infinite supply of amazing curated playlists. Being able to subscribe to other people's playlists and collaborate on playlists is also great.
