I use Unotelly and Netflix.

Good for you. Netflix has all the movies and specially the latest Blu-Ray releases :whistling:

Why not rather do a service like Netflix? They already have a great platform to launch it on called Youtube? Make a paid service (ad free) and a free or cheaper version (with ads).
It's coming. Hopefully at Google I/O.

All the streaming services let you download playlists for offline listening. Not much of a feature at this point.

Simfy is the worst of the lot. A real shame considering their relationship with Afrihost. Spotify destroys the competition though with the size of their US catalogue, the quality of their apps and the infinite supply of amazing curated playlists. Being able to subscribe to other people's playlists and collaborate on playlists is also great.
Agreed. Let's just agree that Play music works for me. :D I think it has a lot to do with my phone choice and how it works (or doesn't) with certain music apps. Huawei really needs to come to the party.

I really like Google Play Music. For the price of half a CD a month I got access to a huge collection of music + allows me to save it for offline play. Win for me so far.

The web interface is very buggy in Firefox, and all the tracks have been equalised for bass response. Basically ruins every track that isn't bass heavy in nature.

If I compare my own CD rip to my Google play copy (from their library), they sound exactly the same. Why would they eq across the board?
I even compared both copies to Deezer where my subscription is still running. Still the same...

Stupid question. How do you watch these movies on your laptop or TV (with computer connected)? Can you just watch it in chrome?

I'm also really loving Play music. The only downside for me is that the interface can be a bit laggy every once in a while. I love the library, I am really amazed by some of the artists I have found on there, and by that I am talking about non mainstream and more indie stuff. And I love the fact that you can find LOADS of local artists. Using it on my Z5.

Google could probably learn a thing or two here from Spotify, they have some good playlists but IMO it could really be a bit better. What does work really well is if you select "radio" from a song and it'll play similar genres, but the downside is that you have to be connected for this unless you play and the playlist first and download it after. But its much more convenient to search for a playlist and download it for offline use.

I spent quite a bit of time testing tracks with my Play Music trial, precisely because I struggled to believe Google could be so stupid as to EQ their entire library. I found loads of stuff that was unlistenable on Play Music. This was on a desktop with good headphones and a DAC.

What album did you use to compare? If it's bass heavy in nature then it wouldn't lose much from the EQ.

How could the Spotify playlists be better? New ones are uploaded every day, and popular older ones are updated frequently. You can also subscribe to any other user's playlists, or share a playlist with friends and keep each other up to date on a particular music taste or genre. It's awesome.

I've found that Spotify has a lot more music than our local streaming services, and Spotify has a huge selection of South African music too.

An issue I frequently had with Play Music, other than not being able to create playlists in Firefox, was that loads of less popular music couldn't play. I like classical music, and it felt like more than half of the stuff I tried to play gave an error.

Was just going on what you said in a previous comment. Maybe the playlists are there on Play music but find them should be easier and playlist recommendations could be better. I'm sure this will be ironed out over time.

Play and Spotify are probably on par here then. The library in Play is fantastic.

This is a shame, must be some issue with using it on Firefox. Have you tried another device or platform? I have never had streaming issues with indie tracks on the app....

What's wrong with this picture?Shouldn't digital versions be cheaper right from the start compared to hard copies(yes I see the 20% "special" discount here) taking into consideration the DVD production, packaging and shipping?
