This line of thinking is just :wtf: and just makes them prime for laughing stock. A fair amount of arrogance in there too. Prime targets for Anonymous too! Eish! :(

Yeah if anything we should just embrace the more conservative american standard.

And fire all these FPB useless ****s and save millions in the process.
 
I think there is merit to the FPB case. We do have established laws regarding this and they are measured against our constitution, which in many cases is more liberal than the US one. I know we cannot blindly apply rules like broadcasting hours to VOD services, but it does not mean our institutions can abdicate their responsibilities to American corporations.
 
So if you dont like the Netflix classifications then dont watch Netflix simple.
 
Surely, this is done before netflix launches in SA.

Do you really think Netflix cares, if our classification board gets too difficult, then netflix will just stop the SA service

Exactly, our market is insignificant to that of the US. The FPB should just be happy that we are spending Rands on this service and they are getting their 14% cut.

Our domestic market might be insignificant, but remember that SA leads in Africa. If they want to capture the African market, they will first want to get it right here. And by "it" I mean compete against Multichoice.
