We will dominate the entire South African smartphone market - Huawei

Huawei recently announced a refreshed version of its P Smart for 2019, following the success of the previous model in South Africa.

Speaking at a media event in Johannesburg, Huawei South Africa CTO Akhram Mohamed said the P Smart aims to fill a gap in the market which has opened up due to the increasing price of smartphones.

Considering what's been happening to Huawei in world markets recently, SA is going to be a vital market. But not enough.

No real surprise...

They make good quality products in that segment
Even their entry level stuff. New Y series phones coming with face unlock, dual sim and decent internal memory from what I've heard

Now give me a phone that can compete with my Note 8 in terms of usability with the stylus and we can get talking.

I've seen some of their phones, but nothing that raises an eyebrow yet

It may obviously, but I think they will target the other markets in Africa before SA becomes a focus area...

Just be careful how you price your fones. Apple slowly pricing themselves out of the market

Already getting expensive, eventually happens with most brands as they add new features etc

Bbk will destroy them if they start taking Africa seriously

Their smartphones are alright but I personally feel that OnePlus gives one more value for money even though they don't have mid-range and entry level devices.
