Web Africa 1 gig Prepaid

HELP!!!

my mom specifically went to the back at around 2 pm and put money into her credit card.now i just registered with WebAfrica and applied for a 1 gig account.

Instantly i got 2 emails : 1 - Had the invoice
2 - Web Africa Client Area Details

Then i got confused cauz the link took me to the Client Area.i didnt understand what was going on.So i went back to my email and i had a new email titled ' Credit Card Billing Failure' :(

But my mom even went into the bank and put money.she even has the slip.

Now whats gonna happen? i dont know and im confused :confused:

Did you wait 24 hours for the funds to appear in the credit card account?

had the same thought.my mom went into the bank and paid money into her credit card.but then il try again tomorrow.it says in the Client Area now that its queued....does this mean 2moro when the credit card details update it will automatically take the R75 ?

Hi matt

Since it failed it will keep trying once a day (unless you cancel the order). Once its successful (IE the money you deposited clears with the bank), the account is setup automatically and you can login.

how do i log in? with what details? dont you have to setup a new account through windows connection wizard?

He means it will be setup on their side and your login details (username and password) mailed to you. After that you setup a new connection on your side with the details that were mailed to you.

Thanks :) Yeah what highflyer said. Username/password gets mailed to you, when you got that if you need help setting up a connection on your side then give us a call and someone will step you through.

OK HELP!

the credit card went thorugh and they sent me the details.i went throught the 'new connection wizard' and done it step by step.then once its setup i disconnect from my telkom account and try with the WebAfrica one and it doesnt do anything. i just get a disconnected error :( it seemed so easy how the way ppl went on about it.im having a battle here.ive got a usb modem.when i phoned the support the guy told me to do everything i had already.no luck.wtf am i doing wrong

ALSO - i got this with 'Account Details' email

'Your ADSL account with Web Africa is setup. Please note you will first need to purchase credit via your client service area before you can use the account. You can do this here'

but ive got my details and ive already bought a gig so i dont have to go buy anymore gigs. :confused: :mad:

So if you go to services in the client area does it show the 1gb there? If so, have you added the WA login details on your modem? What modem do you have?

When i connect it says 'Connecting Through WAN Miniport'

the error i get is 'opening port'.me thinks its something to do with not interacting with the modem.please help :(

You can try it with your normal connection and see if that works - just swap your telkom username and password with your web africa ones.

If it is a telkom modem then go into 10.0.0.2 on a webpage deafult login is admin and password also admin, otherwise check the book that came with the modem it will give you the address then you add it in there

but i wonder why the network connection wizard cant setup a seperate one.oh well i can live with it

No worries - in future you can try right clicking on the connection and choosing 'create a copy'. That way you can have a connection for both.

has anyone tried out x-dsl's 1gig package which includes 9 gigs local, I'm not sure if they allow you to carry over, anyone who tried it please advise...

Sorry for waking up a dead thread but found this one the refers to wat is NOT happening with me.

Logged into the client area using my user/pass (still had one from the 30gb days). Changed my billing details to credit card and added a 1gb prepaid account. A message came up saying id get my login details in the mail within 24 hours.


Its only been a few hours but i read here that people get there details within minutes. Also, i did not get a confirmation mail and nothing shows under services

In summary: purchased using credit card, no emails, no change in client area

Hi Turbo_Aspiration,

If you have not as of yet sent through a support ticket, I would definitely recommend doing so, as to investigate we will need to know under which account this problem is occurring, and perhaps an approximate time that you tried to sign up. If you did not receive a confirmation at all and there was no service added to the account then it means that at some stage during the signup, there was a failure, before our automated system picks up the actual account to create.

If you *have* logged a support ticket with us, please pm me and let me know the ID of the ticket and we can go from there.

Finally, it's worth pointing out (especially if you haven't logged a support query with us) that the MyADSL forum should definitely not be used as the primary place to receive support from us. While we attempt to keep an eye on the forum as often as possible in the eventuality that someone may experience a problem and come here first, the fastest way to receive support is either contact support via e-mail (contact details are listed in your client service area) or alternatively give us a call.

hi richard. I did send a support ticket and got a reply a few moments ago (very good for saturday night!).

Was trying to register with a canceled account. Just tried again and added the service to a new account. Everything worked fine and got my details a few seconds later (impressive would be an understatement!)

On the last point, my post here was meant more for checking how quickly other users got their details rather than for support. But yes, I can imagine users posting here and making a scene while you have no idea whats going on.
