Hi Guys

Openserve is currently busy getting our subrube ready for Fibre, they reckon in the next 3 - 5 month at the longest.
They have been digging up pavements for the last 2 - 3 months, at the moment the fibre splicing teams can be seen all over the place busy connecting up cables.

Anyways my question is which ISP would be best to go for on the Openserve Fibre network.

I am using Crystalweb for my DSL and never had any issues with them. I moved from Afrihost when they moved from IS to MTN due to network issues.

From Fibre packages available at the 3 ISP's I am leaning towards Web Africa Capped Fibre since I don't like being throttled after certain amount of downloading.

Which providers would you recommend and why?

a Friend of mine is using WA and he has never had a problem, and I know CW has great service as well and since you are already with them, why change?

I was just looking at the packages on offer, it's still going to take a few months before I can actually switch over from ADSL to Fibre.

The WebAfrica capped packages for openserve looks so far the best for me. I don't really like uncapped and throttling.
(Openserve busy doing the fibre in our area unfortunately)

Just doing some research, packages might also have changed in the next couple months when the fibre goes live in our area.

I had my fibre installed via WebAfrica. Found out the hard way that I have to cancel my ADSL with a months notice which means I have to pay my ADSL as well as fibre line.

My neigbours did their installation via OpenServe and their ADSL cancellation was backdated and cancelled effective immediately. No double payment.

I think you should consider doing your installation directly with OpenServe rather than through an ISP.

I myself have a capped package from WA and have not had a need for more than 150GB/month, on my 10mbps ADSL, but I am sure if I change to Fibre, this data amount will change and then I will just get the CW 250GB xTREME Home Capped @ R379.00. ;) I seriously don't know why all fibre users are not using this...

I see CellC is now offering "uncapped, unshaped" fibre over Openserve, R1, 699 for the 100/50 offering. Has anyone tried this, what is the experience like as pricing seems competitive in an Openserve context?

CISP. They actually offer what they advertise. Unlike the three stated.
