Just a friendly note to anyone who might be interested in fibre from Web Africa and Open Serve. Just stay away.

Ive been having high latency. Unstable Internet, where it will disconnect for 5 seconds and then i have to restart everything to get it back up.

This has been going on since the installation in August 2016. Web Africa has promised a New Router since they thing thats the only reason this happens. They don't reply on your Ticket if they do they don't read it and sends a template email about speed issues where you have not even mentioned speed...
Just a few more months then i can move, Vumatel is almost done digging up the place.

any other ISP that has great service most of all for the Vuma Line?

Its almost definitely your router...
What brand is it? Huawei?
I have helped a few of my mates move from Huawei to TP-Link... fixes all the isues

The lack of feedback is disturbing. If you can DM me I know how to escalate at WA..

Probably a TP Link Archer C20, that's the router WA currently give out to fibre customers.

I'm with Cool Ideas on Vuma and am very happy with there service. I've only had one issue so far, which was due to a power outage on a Friday afternoon at about 6PM, the power came back, but the fiber router didn't. I called cool ideas and talked to a support guy. He told me he'd call me back. 5 minutes later he called me back in a conference call with an engineer from Vumatel and they diagnosed then remotely resolved the issue. So apart from the power outage, the downtime was around 15 minutes.

The only snag with vumatel is having to pay the R1710 installation fee, but it is a once off fee.

I've never had issues with these providers in the 9 months I've been using them?
