Web Developer

Candidate must be a dedicated software developer with a keen interest in programming technology and languages. Must have a proven track record of designing and writing logical, structured, readable and well documented code, and have disciplined approach to software development and testing. Candidate must be a quick learner and have the ability to work under pressure and within challenging time constraints. Strong communication skills and analytical thinking is required. Candidate must be able to approach problems in a logical and efficient manner to meet the project deadlines and report any issues pro-actively. Candidates must also be able to pro-actively manage their daily workload and be able to switch between different tasks and manage interruptions.

Some of the key tasks may include:
•Configure the company’s platforms according to project requirements
•Provide second-line technical and development support for projects
•Troubleshoot requests to provide optimal solutions to problems
•Develop and execute test cases to ensure systems meet specifications
•Plan and develop features for the company’s core platforms
•Develop high quality code according to company standards and guidelines while operating within the time constraints of the relevant project
•Custom data management and reporting
•Manage daily tasks and interruptions
•Resolve system and technical errors
•Document system architecture

Requirements:
•Minimum 2 years’ experience
•Experience in development of device-independent web-based systems and a basic knowledge of networking will be an advantage

Required skills:
•HTML, XHTML, JavaScript (JQuery, JSON, LINQ, ExtJS, Dojo, prototype)
•C# .NET
•RDBMS such as PostGres, MySQL, Oracle
•Python, PHP, Ruby experience advantageous
•Flash / Flex
•Networking advantageous

Salary: R25K - R40K
