I upped to the 500/250 package. The download fluctuates between 320 and 480, mostly on the lower end and the upload never goes above +-130. Is there something I should be tweaking? I'm mostly in this for the upload and the extra money for an extra 30Mpbs doesn't seem worth it.

What router are you using?
Anything above 100mb synchronous needs a decent-ish router.

Just as info on CISP they both route to CPT.

Both are advertised in CPT, so should be preferred. Will ask the team to check what's happening with route selection

Seems international, unable to load bbc.co.uk for example, appears to return address unreachable for anything on their cdn even though the root address itself works. Traceroute to what appears to be their CDN url also dies at some point...
Also can't playback YouTube for example, something seems borked...

Did maintenance and clearly did not fix the issue...

Octotel Engineers will be performing continued node maintenance in the following node:

Rondebosch

Our engineers will be performing pon port maintenance in the node which will result in certain customers in the area to lose connectivity for 5mins. No more than 30 customers will lose connectivity at a time.

The maintenance is to alleviate any potential areas of concern, to ensure all connections are in spec for all customers to experience a solid stable connection.

Please see dates and time of the maintenance schedule below:

Date: Tuesday - Thursday , 31st August- 2nd September 2021
Start time: 01:00am - 05:00am
Duration: 5 hours
The maintenance is schedule to alleviate all out of spec connections in the following area: Harfield Village - core 3 fibre infrastructure

I'm convinced at this point these maintenances are just braais/get togethers for the technicians, and at the end of the night they all get together around a laptop and have a good laugh as they reply "We're investigating this issue" to all the open tickets.

CPT - we've picked up an issue with our CPT peering edge router; we're busy resolving this. Local traffic will run of JHB in the meanwhile.
