For me it's function, function, function. I couldn't care if it's the nicest looking site in the world - if I can't get around and do the tasks I need to do then I become a frustrated user.

Best case in point: www.easynews.com

yeah easynews must have been delevoped by a bunch of techs. it does work however, as long as somebody can guide you through it a few times :p

functionality for me as well. if it looks good even better! I mean, i LOVE maddox's site. and its pretty darn basic that one.

True true, form follows function ;) - how long have you been using easynews? I've just started and it rules over p2p and filesharing apps.

[edit] Plus you get priority on port 80 downloads :D

i also only started using it recently. somebody turned me onto it. but yeah, its the fastest thing out there. the download literally runs as fast as you connection can handle!!! if you can download at 55kB/s then the easynews download will go at 55kB/s. hooray for loopholes!!!

it is very interesting however about the fact that females chose female sites over males sites. how did they know?? are all females against us males? sure feels like it sometimes.

I like the design and it's functionality. Could have more talk of pixies and less of proxies though :D J/K

personally i prefer websites that are easy to use, efficient, and load quickly. i dont really care who designed it, as long as it works nicely. it becomes frustrating on some webpages to find simple links, just because the designers tried to make it look too flashy. so with reference to the report, doesnt apply to some people. they should survey every single internet user before reaching such generalised conclusions. or at least say something along the lines of "some men prefer websites designed by men and some women...". just a thought though, dont hate me for it

"Not surprisingly, male subjects tended to assign higher ratings to pages designed by men, and females preferred sites made by women."

I hope this site is acceptable to our female users :D

(from a female perspective) as one who made a monumental stuff-up with my first post, have been severely chastised & castigated by some, but also forgiven and warmly received by the rest... appearance is not really important , the acceptance, intelligence (of site and forumites) and levels of discussion are really great. And... for me as a non-expert, I am learning soooo much. Love this site !! ;)

Interesting though the female and male perpective in rating a site! I am one who is all for well developed intresting sites! It gives me the stone zig to go inot a site that has not been tended to and is hopelessly out of date! The eye-catching ones do just that, catch the eye!!!!

There was never anything to forgive, we all had to learn the hard way at one point or another. Besides I think you have the skills to sell your product now ;)
