Webafrica and ASP session state

Hi guys

I am having a strange issue where my session state is getting lost on a regular intermittent basis on Webafrica's hosting platform. Even moving from the login page to the landing page I have on numerous occasions lost the session state basically immediately.

I have the 'exact' same solution deployed with Afrihost with no issues whatsoever.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or what I can ask Webafrica to check/adjust from their side?

Thanks

The session state is reset per x amount of hits to your site. Normally sessions last 30 minutes, but in a shared hosting environment this can lead to quite a bit of resources being hogged. I doubt you'd get it changed just for you.

Why you're using sessions in this day and age is beyond me. Please rework or get a VPS/Dedicated server where you can tweak your own IIS settings (even then, session will be reset if your service restarts, time limit is reached or number of hits auto-garbage collects/cleans sessions to keep memory usage down)

Yeah, am aware thanks, I am just moving the environment from one ISP to another for a client.
Maybe we should change the expression to 3 things that are certain: Death, taxes and a condescending response on a forum question :D
Anyway, your response makes sense and the dedicated environment (or rework) suggestion will be relayed to client, thanks.
