Hello

I am currently on WebAfrica VDSL. I have configured my VDSL modem to be in Bridged mode, and the routing process is made on a hAP ac https://mikrotik.com/product/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT

My area is now covered by fibre and I intend to switch over.

After WebAfrica will come and install FTTH to my apartment, I wonder which SFP device I must buy and insert into my hAP ac.

Is it :

- GPON ONU Module https://routerboard.com/SFPONU
- https://routerboard.com/S-85DLC05D
- or any other module ?

You don't need an SPF port, you will get a CPE device as part of the installation that you can simply connect with a RJ45 jack to your Mikrotik.

Ah ok, that's easy.

Last question, shall I get PPPoE credentials like I used to with VDSL, to be configured on the interface that I will connect to the CPE device ?

With Openserve's FTTH, yup. You simply dial your PPPoE connection from your router. Not sure about the other providers but I think it will probably be the same.

I believe it's the same for everyone except Vumatel. For Vumatel, you use DHCP to get a WAN connection and they lock you to a specific device using the MAC address.

What about that CPE device ? Is it small as it surely needs power supply ? Do you have any link to a webpage ?

Thanks ! But then, my first question seems to be relevant ! :)

Can I replace this cumbersome Huawei CPE device (SOHO GPON technology), by directly inserting the following Mikrotik GPON module into my Hap ac ?

Nope the ONT is relative to the OLT, and Openserves respective config.
