I ordered a fibre connection via WebAfrica about 6 months ago. In Feb I was informed that my "Fibre order had been placed" and that it would take 3 - 5 days for the next process, STEP NO. 2 to be completed ("Order placed and processed with fibre network provider" - in my case Openserve). (The area I live in has been dark purple for more that 3 months now.... so definitely fibre availability)

STILL WAITING FOR STEP NO. 2!!!!!

Has anyone else experienced this HUGE lag? What is happening? I've logged various calls with WebAfrica, but I just keep getting redirected to the status page, which has been the same for 2 months now!!! (Maybe they meant 30 - 50 days, not 3 - 5 days....). I'm seriously considering another ISP.

I've recently cancelled my Web Africa that sat for a while as well.

I don't mind the wait, but I do like to plan (I have had no internet at home since I placed the order). Whenever I tried to get updates from them, they refused to give details and said that it had been escalated. After basically being ignored by them repeatedly, I cancelled my order. Rafeeqah (the rep here), I could see was trying to help, but it seems that the people in operations are the ones not communicating anything. I think the special they ran in the beginning of them has put a lot of pressure on their resources and they are struggling to keep up.

Good luck trying to get answers from them.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! Only problem is they really seem to provide excellent value for money. Will wait another week or so and then follow up again.

My request (Afrihost) took 6 weeks before openserve tech made appointment for install, and I ordered the day it went dark purple. The openserve techies are fully booked and there will be a long delay.

So there is your answer.

exercise caution -> goedkoop is duurkoop - I am experiencing that at the moment, getting a fraction of what I am paying for (from an international speed point of view). My query is now 15 days old and no closer to any resolution.

In my case, the WA myadsl reps are doing all that they can. It is the tier 3+ support staff that are dropping the ball imo.
btw. I'm on Vumatel infrastructure.
