In terms of ISPs managing your ADSL line, what exactly should we be expecting? WebAfrica does not seem to have any processes in place to manage tickets once they have log one with Telkom.

I am not sure if I am just expecting too much from the ISP?

It has been over 1.5 months now, and WebAfrica are a glorified ticket creator, they don't do anything more than create the ticket. No follow up with Telkom, no check in with me. I have to prompt them to act on everything.

Telkom just keeps closing the ticket and WebAfrica keeps opening new ones when I tell them its still ****ed.

I had terrible service when I attempted to get fibre through WebAfrica. Perhaps you should get a trial account with another ISP. I think most ISPs give 7 days...

This is with the actual line, not the data portion. I do have 3 different ISP accounts. :)

Had the same issue with Afrihost. In the end moving my line to Telkom was the easiest.

Why not just log faults with Telkom directly and deal with them yourself? It's what I have done for years, and my line is with Afrihost. That way you get the benefit of the reduced cost of the line, and you get rid of the middle man.

It's easiest having your line with Telkom and dealing with them. Lately it's been a pleasure.

WebAfrica don't even offer a discount on the line costs any more. Looks like I will be moving away from them for good.

Now I have to pay to have a Telkom tech come out and test. :(

The horror.

wtf guys. Telkom does not do ADSL lines at all.

Your line is with Openserve. Telkom is Telkom Internet, an ISP. They have the same access to line management as YOUR ISP has.

They identify themselves as Telkom. I assume they are Openserve but assume we are all ignorant and do not know anything about Openserve.

You know, because we are all stupid end users and do not know any better.
