WebAfrica - Up to 6 months to pick up online order

Hi,

Is it true that WebAfrica will only "pick up your online order" within 6 months?

I got the following reply to an email that I sent to a WebAfrica sales agent:

Thank you for reaching out to me.

Unfortunately I cannot trace your order. But you will be contacted within the next 6 months when our support team picks up your online order. As they are responsible for all the online orders.

The below special ended on the 31st of August 2017 that is why I was reaching out to you at the time so that you can qualify for the free Installation. If you placed your order recently then you will be charged the R2280 installation fee by Open Serve.

I had a good experience with WebAfrica's capped ADSL products in the past, but this rings a few alarm bells.

Any suggestions for a good (faster than 6 months response) Fibre ISP? Our complex is finally dark purple on Openserve network.

Or is 6 months how long it takes for a Fibre order to be placed (and hopefully installed)?

Open Serve can be a massive pain because what is reflected on the maps are often not what is really going on. I've recently had this experience. If fibre really is ready though I'd suggest Crystal Web. Go to their online chat function on the website. They are very helpful and I've also recently seen that they have dropped their prices on the Premium fibre offering. Installation on OS infrastructure may take 3-6 weeks though.
