Webafrica - Weird Issue - slow and browsing non existent but downloads are fine ???

Hi

i was off from work yesterday and couldn't browse or even play a youtube vid at all yesterday (for most of the day from around 7am till 7pm) - their network status said everything is fine too

this isnt the 1st time this has happened either, actually its been a consistent problem and i even phoned in to webafrica the last time this happened and the lady just reset something on her side and then it sort of worked again for a few hours.

I'm in the olivedale area and my fibre isp is Webafrica on Vumatel and i'm on a 20mb uncapped package

So here's the weird thing i notice since getting this package beginning of this year, my downloads (P2P) are all fine decent speeds and usually done regardless of time of day BUT when i want to browse even with my downloads off i cant - it will hardly open a webpage most of the time :wtf:

cant understand how downloads work fine most of the time but browsing sucks so bad

i didnt want to complain to webafrica just yet because its a weird situation to explain - i'm happy with the speeds/downloads but when it comes to browsing it just doest work most of the time

Even if your downloads are off, you may be uploading a snot-spoed with your torrents, which will affect any type of browsing or youtube'ing you plan on doing.

It's also generally accepted that home accounts are often shaped during business hours (7am till 7pm) but won't be unusable. So check that you're not uploading at full speed. Even if you're not, your peers might be saturating the amount of connections possible, making things slow

sorry should have been more clear, when its off its totally off meaning no seeding at all
this happens when i'm not downloading at all as well

Maybe, just maybe he asked Webafrica to punish you
