Considering options to send family/friends funds abroad, was wondering if its possible through WeChat app, if so at what cost? Also what are the most cost effective alternatives.

Tried through paypal and was hit by 8% commission on the small amount transferred.

One of the best ways is if you know someone who has a bank account in South Africa and the country you want to send money to. So for example if you had a friend who lives in the UK, who has both a UK and SA bank account. You could ask him to transfer X amount of pounds from his UK bank account to your family member/friend's UK bank account, and you can then transfer the equivalent amount of money from your SA bank account to his SA bank account.

Check with luno.com on the SA side and your family/friends in the US will check with their local bitcoin exchange.

Still havent found a good solution to my situation, bitcoin fluctuates a lot, so a bit risky to use it in my opinion... Any other suggestions?
