What's the judging criteria? You can't have just one judge as well. And the judging would surely need to be done by a group with photography skills? Or is it just a case of "which is your favourite?" ?

One judge picks his/her favourite pick.

Simple.

Ooo look its colourful and the shapes are clear is good enough for me.

Else we will get to technical. Technically it could be brilliant but in reality it could still be dull and really boring.

Because the week closes on a wednesday, Judgement on thursday, new theme up by thursday afternoon, people have time to plan their shots for the theme for the next week.... blah blah blah read the first two pages. Al the reasons are there

Just sent Ook a link and told him to hop to. You should have a verdict shortly (is he online?)

Devill, I would update the first post with all the rules so that people don't have to read through the debating posts to get the idea. Also update weekly with winner, link to winning photo, and the next week's theme (under "Week X" or "24-29 July 2009" or something headings.
And, at the end of each week, put a big red post with "Week X"/"[insert date]" so people know where the previous week ends and the currents starts; does away with that confusion.
