Still life always makes me think of bowls of fruit or skulls and books

should we not refrain from critique-ing photos too much until the judging is done? cuz then aren't we tainting the judging process by providing an insight into what is erm wrong with a photo - where a judge otherwise might not have noticed.

Well this judge is pretty useless anyway, so I'm more than keen to get everyones insight too

Right, I reckon it's close enough to 12 pee-em, so here goes my opinion:

There weren't many submissions, but what was submitted was very good.

And the winner is........

My justification is thus:
Composition - Less is more - simplicity created the impact for me.
Technical - Lighting & colour.

Well done Subliminal, I need to try & emulate this great shot.

I would also like to make mention of the following:

Runner up: ( hey, whilst I'm judge I'm gonna abuse it )
I love the composition, very arty. Was a tough choice with this one.

2nd runner up:
Lovely original pic.

And special mention to Mephisto, for making the effort to submit, despite bits & pieces falling off his camera!
