Ok most people know by know the slim hdd connector is just a normal sata hdd connector , where the PHAT uses some weird connector with a normal sata drive inside.
But by default using a flash drive or any external hdd you can only use 16gb on a drive.( Stock firmware)
So i found this nice guide how to flash a WD Scorpio drive to use on the xbox.

Some guys reports works with other drives also.
I did this on a older 80gb Scorpio drive , used the 60gb files so i have 51gb to use on the xbox now.
Ps: This does not get you banned on live etc , just makes a normal drive to a xbox drive.
