That's a lot of information to lose in one go. :crying:
And there is always somebody moaning about new HDD releases because "that is a lot of data to lose" and "why would anybody need this much storage?".

a) 1MB of data is a lot to lose if it is critical information.
b) If you can't afford to lose data, back it up.
c) If you don't need this much storage, don't buy it.
But FFS, stop complaining about progress because it doesn't fit your own, personal use-case.

Yeah seriously, you are not only get 1 drive, you will get two, my entire steam libary is backed up on a 2tb drive, along with all my software.I all likely event I will get two drives one for storage and one for backups.

Touchy touchy. Just reflecting the sentiment of colleagues who regularly chuck 3TB drives in the bin and then scramble to look for episodes of their favorite series they now lost.

How many 512GB Micro SD cards would fit in the same physical space? :unsure:

Crappy idea though, Linus (tech tips) tried something similar and its craptastic.

there was a time 50MB drive was considered enormous,
