Like others on this forum, I've recently just gotten myself a Roku (3) and am wondering what are your "must have" channels. Here are some that I've just added that I need to checkout/test:

  • Netflix
  • HuluPlus
  • CNE
  • ifood.tv
  • Fox News
  • WSJ Live
  • Angry Birds Space
  • PBS Kids
  • Crackle
  • Plex
  • Fox Now
  • Smithsonian Channel
  • Spotify
  • A&E
  • History Channel
  • NBC News
  • Huff Post Live
  • Youtube
  • CBS News
  • Livestream
  • Roku Media Player
  • PBS
  • Syfy
  • Sky News
  • Nowherecast
  • BBC World Service
Would love to hear what you guys and gals recommend/have on your rokus??

Slightly OT, I added the Youtube channel from my iPhone app but it's not on the Roku.

Am I missing something?

I don't have the mobile app (yet) . I added the YouTube channel via the channel store on the Roku I think. If it doesn't show up on your roku, just go to settings and run an update.

Pls post your channels here if you have anything that you like or it isn't mentioned already.

Vevo - music videos
Pandora - background music no videos
NHK World - news from Japan
eNCA - eTV news channel - available in NowhereTV International feeds but kept freezing the last time I checked
USTVNow - ABC, CBS, NBC etc - 45 day free trial
LibriVox - huge library of free audio books - good resource for elderly with vision problems

You can add channels to the Roku from the app and also use it as a remote amongst other things. Maybe check the Android app store?

Plex do have an android app on the play store. It's also free if you have plex pass.

The Youtube app is a bit sucky. I cannot see any of my subscribed channels, i hope this is just a bug that they will fix soon.

Haven't spent much time with the YT app, but it seems to work just fine for me. After signing in I can see all my subscribed channels on the left and going to subscriptions shows the latest videos as expected

YouTube works fine for me. Am liking the fact that i can "cast" stuff from my phone's YouTube app to the Roku. I can see the subscriptions just fine

So, how does one beam YouTube videos to the Roku from a (android) mobile device?
