Finished. Ahhh... my kind of sci-fi  I'm jumping straight into: Shards of Honour (Vorkosigan Saga, #1) by Lois McMaster Bujold (Cordelia's Honour Omnibus)

Done - so the next logical book, by all the recommendations.... is.... Barrayar (Vorkosigan Saga #7) by Lois McMaster Bujold :wtf: makes total sense

I can't get through earthsea. Just too awkward

Interesting. I don't remember having any problems with it on a first read back in the '60s/early '70s. This could be a generational difference, or maybe just a personal one.

I had something like this when I were a lass;it piqued my interest from an early age. Think I'll check that out as I like Fry's style.

Audiobook might be worth a listen. Fry is very good at them.

Busy with this at the moment. Fascinating so far.

scrap that... trying this: Terms of Enlistment (Frontlines #1) by Marko Kloos

Still busy with this. Quit like it... started off reading like someone out of primary school is writing this but it's growing on me the further I go.

Be that as it may, I want to start this one next: Gridlinked (Agent Cormac #1) by Neal Asher. Did Prador Moon last year, but didn't like it much... but for the very reason that it's not supposed to be read first. A lot of the terms being used (this is now from memory) was explained in earlier published novels, even though it was chronologically first. This series I'll just do published order I think.
