I also don't care for the author's dramas. I enjoyed some of the monster series books by Correia despite his right wing dramas and actually enjoyed most of battlefield earth just the book's ending is rather tedious. Don't think I even completed it because it was a drag toward the end.

I've been eyeing out Son of the Black Sword by Larry Correia - never heard of him before but I assume this is who you are talking about?

Yup. Found out he's a bit of a right wing nutjob from OD after some comment about him leading that sad puppies thing

The first three were pretty decent, I thought. But after that he disappears up his own ass.

Yeah, I think that's about where I gave up. My memories are a bit vague, but I can remember reaching a point and just not caring enough to continue on.

Just started We Are Legion (Bobiverse Book 1) - Dennis Taylor.
Quite a contrast to Blindsight - this is lighter and humorous, not sure I'm in the mood for this now was kinda wanting to keep on with something that has a similiar feel to Blindsight. Ah well lets see.
Anyone read this yet?

Busy with it on Audible now - I'm really enjoying it. Never been into space themed stuff, but this changed my perspective and I enjoy the humour and light manner in which the story is told.

Time for a re-read. Read this originally back in the 90s.

I read the first one. It's a fun urban fantasy. Think along the lines of the Dresden files (TV show, haven't gotten round to the books yet).

Yes. For me, personally, The Dresden Files are right at the top of urban fantasy, but the Iron Druid Chronicles are a good way to relax while you wait for Jim Butcher to get his ass in gear and publish the next book.

I'm still on I Shall Seal The Heavens, the phenomenal xianxia series by Er Gen. Absolutely epic Chinese martial arts fantasy on a grand scale. The translator, Deathblade, is excellent as well so you never feel that the work in English is lacking. However, not only is the story epic, the books are as well. I just finished Book 4 and it had more than 2,000 pages! Amazingly, it never feels like a chore reading the books as sometimes happens with series written on this scale. There is so much action, humour and world expansion that I simply can't wait to find out what happens next. Onto Book 5!
