Wasn't aware I thought it was one story over many books. Consider Phlebas is always listed as Culture #1
It's order of publication

Might need to try again one day. I found The Algebraist so damn tedious - especially the world building when he goes down to slow time to the world of those big creatures (on a gas giant planet or something).I'll second Iain M Banks

Yeah, Consider Phlebas isn't his greatest piece of work.
Both of you should try Player of Games.

This is an interesting - books are released initially as a series with a new chapter every week, each written by a different author! Season one was great! Season 3 was just released.
see SerialBox.com. Episodes are released in both digital and audio format.
Did you read The Prefect/Aurora Rising first?
Got the sample, seems cool so far. Both of you should try Player of Games.
I did, a few years ago admittedly but I read a quick recap and it all came back to me. So far Elysium is pretty good though I'm only a couple of chapters in.Did you read The Prefect/Aurora Rising first?
Season one of Tremontaine was good, I listened to the audio book version and it wasn't disjointed at all. I think the trick here is that it's written like a tv series in that there is a writing team - although different writers write specific episodes (or chapters) the entire team works out the complete plot and storyline together before the actual writing begins.Interesting concept! Let us know if it actually holds together or becomes disjointed.
Thanks, nice website - I tend to agree with your reviews of those books I've read, so I'll definitely be looking out for those you scored highly which I haven't read yet!You could conceivably read Elysium Fire as a standalone, but it won't have nearly the same impact as when you read both. I re-read The Prefect just before starting Elysium Fire (reviewed here) and it added so much more to the experience. Most of the groundwork for the world/universe is done in the first one, while Elysium Fire is a far closer focus on Dreyfus and his team. Then you can throw in Revelation Space and adds yet another layer. I kinda went into a Reynolds reading binge after finishing Elysium Fire...
Just finished We are legion(we are Bob) Book 1 of the BoBiverse.
Its really great, nice light reading. Such fun.
Going to read the Jordan Peterson book before I get the rest of the Bobiverse series.

Just started the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.
Still early days.
Yup, love the bobiverse series.
Just finished the last book, concludes the arc pretty nicely.
