Imajica by Clive Barker

I don't know what it is about Clive Barker - he's British, he writes very successful horror, so I should like him - but I just can't get into his works.

I've tried a couple around the Weaveworld era, but found them ultimately forgettable. I tried to read Abarat but couldn't get past the first few pages.

12 Rules for life : Jordan Peterson

Great so far, definitely more accessible then some of his other content.

Scourged - Kevin Hearne

Last in the Iron Druid chronicles. Kinda sucked I think, I guess it is hard for authors to wrap up stories. Like Peter V Brett in the Demon Cycle, Hearne does a poor job of concluding his series. Some of the story lines don't make sense and just end up as dead ends. Not sure why he wrote it like that

I just started this on audio:

Am hoping for the usual high quality sfi-fi space opera from Reynolds

So I finished this and I have to say it was pretty meh. Not bad but just more of the same. I said I was hoping for the usual high quality sci-fi space opera from Reynolds but in retrospect it feels like if you've read one, you've read them all. So, yes, it bored me, but not because it was bad, just very predictable and same old, same old... Also felt a bit pointless

Finsihed Player of Games - enjoyed it.
A bit undecided which Culture book to go with next. Thinking of Excession rather than Use of Weapons (the jumping around style gets brought up a lot as a thing that puts people off).

Started a posthumous book titled «*And me, I still live*».

Posted it for the irony.

Glad to hear that!

I personally preferred Use of Weapons to Excession but that's just me.

It isn't really that it jumps around as such, more of odd and even chapters dealing with the same time line from different points.

In my mind you could start reading the book from the back or front but only do every second chapter if you wanted cohesiveness in the time line.

Continuing my exploration of Eastern fantasy. Having finished I Shall Seal The Heavens, one of the best series I've ever read (5/5), I read Shura's Wrath (quite violent, bit dark, 3/5 but enjoyable if you like brutal action), then moved onto Overgeared (absolutely hilarious, literally laugh-out-loud funny with an MC who shows more growth than any other MC I've encountered in a while, 4/5) and at the moment I'm busy with World of Cultivation (I'd say 3.5/5. Translation is a bit lacking at times and while I like the MC, the story in ISSTH is better, Overgeared is funnier and Shura's Wrath has a lot more badass action).
