I enjoyed this, but not enough to read the follow up.

Just finished:

Absolutely loved it. Must find the next one.
Im actually thinking of rereading it. The book I have is terrible though, font size and line spacing is so bad that I found it difficult to read for as long as I wanted to.

So read the next two in the series:)

Edit: I loved those books when I was a youngster
I will, I have the four books in one Earthsea print. When I picked the book up I thought it is was book one of four so I was a bit disappointed when I learned the truth.
I've read the first chapter of The Tombs of Atuan and there is no mention of Sparrowhawk which has me a bit worried. I liked him.

Absolutely loathe audiobooks but Way of Kings has a music score and sound effects.

Makes for such an incredible immersive experience.

Why do you loathe audiobooks?

Give The First Law Trilogy (first book is The Blade Itself) a go, too. Great narration by Steven Pacey. Does a different voice for each character - so good.

I'm busy with the third book in Brandon Sanderson's "Stormlight Archive". I really love the characters he's created, but I think this is going to be a long series...

Listening in my car, I often find myself having to restart the chapter because my mind just goes somewhere else and I lose track. Abandoned Dune because of this.

But this new audio was different. Completely pulls you in and keeps you there.

Thanks for that recommendation.

His plan is for Stormlight Archive to be 10 novels with a multitude of short stories and novellas between the main novels.

Have you read any of his other work?

I am busy with Winter's Heart -- Book 9 of The Wheel of Time.

I am actually enjoying it so far, even though it is rated as one of the weakest books in the series.

Good to hear!
I read a lot of negative reviews that the books go downhill after 6 or so. But I thought they were typical reviewers and embarked on the wheel of time journey!

I am currently on book 4 of the Wheel of Time series.

Many do say that, but from what I've heard from friends who have read it is that it just slows down a lot, which I have been experiencing. I took about a year break between book 7 and book 8 -- book 7 was just that slow and mind-numbing.
Apparently it really picks up again from book 10. And I am very excited to get to the Brandon Sanderson books.

Awesome! That is one of the best books in the series! Good luck on the journey -- it's a wild one!

Have you read the Malazan Tale of the Fallen books?

Not yet, it is actually my next long-series on the list for when I finish Wheel of Time. Heard many great things about it.

I'd take it you have read it?
Twice :)

Brilliant. It was a paradigm shift in how Epic Fantasy is written.

Great! I have heard only good reviews for those books so I am very keen to give them a shot! When I eventually finish this series. Been reading it for years on and off.
