What can you expect from BlackBerry 10?

Using a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1. Definitely a known issue in the latest version, Google search confirms sadly.....

I played with one of these dev devices the other day, and it really has a long long way to go. The UI is still really bad, and touch seemed to be tacked on even though its a fully touch device.
They seriously need a new design team.

That I'm guessing, is more a misunderstanding of how Android works. Sharing is done from the content itself, rather than from where you want to share it to. When you take a photo, just click on the share button and you'll be able to (very, very easily) post it to Facebook, twitter, whatsapp, G+, pretty much all of the social networking apps you can think of. If you can't send a photo to WhatsApp from your gallery, then either you or your phone is doing something very wrong.

Ok thanks I see that sharing from the content is possible. I like how you say "how Android works", when Blackberries have been working like this for years. Anyway, I still think the Facebook app is crap and slow. I have given up on checking in since it takes so long to find nearby places and I am yet to find a way to add my own places, not just edit existing ones. Btw I have a S3.

I have a S3 and runs the Facebook app. It works fine for me, I don't understand what your problem is.

I wonder how many BB flamers thinks the Golf MK1 is cool and badly want one. Or worse, own one which is slightly pimped.

I own one, my wife owns one, yet I have 2x 2012 cars in my garage at night.....

I feel BB's still have merit, but this article leads to another potential problem: http://businesstech.co.za/news/columns/19152/blackberry-pricing-problem-looming/

Yes, they are not cutting edge. I use my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at home for proper high-speed browsing and app's and watching media....

But for carrying around in my pocket I am still in the BB corner, because for R59 per month I have unlimited usage and I don't have to worry about overspending.....

My plan is to actually upgrade to a cheap CURVE running BB 10 next year which will be a downgrade on my current Torch but all I need the phone for is calls, sms, BBM and emails during the day and I want fixed cost. At night the BB goes onto the kitchen counter and my Galaxy Tab does everything I want it to!

From the Play Store reviews I can see that I'm not the only one having problems with this app. Does your comment refer to the speed of the app or are you able to add places using the app?

Not to mention that not everyone likes typing on a Touch Screen phone. It just doesn't come close to physical buttons.

Ey I own one. Sport;)..its got a nice sound system, which is the 'only' thing i can really enjoy on this lovely ride....

i think the lack of backward compatibility is a drive towards standardisation.
let me explain in my own opinion why i say so.
the success of the top players in the smartphone space i believe is due to a "common" form factor. Apple being the best at that as we all know adroid caters for a much more diverse market.
the negative impact this has for BB however is that they going to have to drop the old to get in with the new and unfortunatly everyone wont be happy.
its a tough business decision but the most correct one i believe.

i have just moved from BB to android/ galaxy s3 and loving it.
lets see if the major restructure within BB organisation pays off.. i think it will get worse (in my own opinion again) before it gets better but they on the right track.
