What car do you drive?

What happened to the Forester? I used to drive a 2.0 diesel Forester, was magical, except for the constant fear that something is going to cost me more money.
I am in SA with a rented car atm.
Still got the forester, and a tesla to go with it

stunning machine , one of the few cars i would consider as a worthy upgrade on my current 05 sti.
I’ve only ever driven one Subaru, think it was a 2008/2009 Outback. I would love to take an STi for a spin one day, along with a Levorg (I’d EJ25 swap it though like MCM did)

What are you boys driving nowadays? Almost replaced the GTI with a WRX recently, but sanity prevailed.

WRX in question below.

I know CVTs have come a long way since the last one I drove, but they are not what I would call an engaging drive. In your case I am glad that sanity did indeed prevail.

There is a WRX for sale here locally (older model, circa 2013) for a decent price but it's also an auto box with flappy paddles. I think these Subies need manual transmissions to really shine.

I also heard a rumour that 8 Subaru Levorgs made their way to SA for market testing. If I could get one of those I would also be a very happy man-child.

I'm still driving my 2018 Duster, but I may be going to view a 2019 one next week. If the dealership can make me a good offer on mine, I might be swayed to upgrade to the Gen2 Duster for minimal outlay after staff discounts are applied.

If I had some cash to burn, you would likely find me in one of these:

Still driving my Touareg, taking a bit of a beating from the family, two kids now and one dog but it is great for what we need. Wife has the Chery which is doing pretty well, if she would stop getting it scratched, MkI Golf and T1 Bus are in storage for now.

Him: 2020 Kia Seltos 1.6 EX M/T bought last year. Went in to get a new top of the range diesel auto. Finance approved but I couldn't accept paying that much for a car. Walked out with a 2nd hand entry level. Still happy a year later.

Her: 2011 Hyundai i10 1.2 GLS auto bought new. Other than services, batteries and tyres I have to replace the radiator now. There is a hairline crack in the plastic tank ontop of the radiator. Just over 150k km on the clock.

Finally sold my 2011 1.6 Polo Tiptronic with 215k km on. Bought me this and am loving it. Huge upgrade from a 2011 polo lol. I only buy a new car after a decade or so, and before it's fix cost outweighs it's value. I try to buy cars that will last mechanically.

Mine: 2011 BMW 330d (E90) w/ a tune and straight pipe exhaust (twin exit). Put on a set of BC coilover when the OEM shocks gave out, and also did a ZF8 conversion when the ZF6 **** the bed.

Hers: Recently acquired 2016 Volvo XC90 T8. Excellent car, extremely spacious and comfortable for my boys who tend to alsway want to be in the 3rd row. Just added some roof rails when we need to use the roofbox that's currently on the 30d.

Shop runner: 2012 Peugeot 208 1.2 Active, surprisingly very reliable for all the years I've owned it, only break was the clutch slave since iv bought it outside or regular servicing. Absolute fuel sipper, light and nimble for tight parking and super easy to drive for when my mother-law takes it out. Really just and get in and go car

What car do you drive and what was the deciding factor in purchasing it (if you bought it yourself)?

An old beat up Isuzu KB bakkie that has discreet armor and a customised engine. I use this to go to the shops and to crawl along at 60km/h on the fast lane to make people late for work at 7:30am.

Other vehicle is a new Cayenne GTS that has more robust body armour.
