There is a shop here by us that does exchange of a bottle for R210, but if you want a refill on your own bottle its R260.

The one guy by the mall who refills different size bottles does 9KG refill for R230.

I pay around R230. It fuels a gas stove, and a refill lasts between 6 and 10 months.

R230 to exchange a 9kg at one hardware and R215 to refill at gas shop.

The hardware is 2 roads away so I just pay the extra R15 instead of making a 15KM round trip.

Only the max price is fixed.
I wish that more people would pay attention to the LPG maximum price.

A retailer called Kismet in Cape Town was charging R30 per kg in February when the maximum price was under R23. When challenged they tried to claim that there was no such thing as a maximum retail price.

Caltex in Republic Road, Ferndale charges R286, told them to FO.

Got some at Total Oxford Road, next to Thrupps for R238.50.

R133 for a 5kg earlier this week. That's R26,60 per kg, and R239,40 for a 9kg.
