I hear what you're saying but I've got a feeling she wasnt looking for any old employment but rather something befitting her qualifications. I doubt she would have had trouble finding a job that might have been - for the lack of a better term - "beneath her".

I too hear what you're saying :)

My girlfriend was jobhunting for 7 months. She started off with high expectations, but as the months wore on, they dropped significantly. She was even considering waitressing just to make some money. Fortunately this month she got a good entry level job in her field of study. Granted there were jobs she wouldn't consider (security guard, driver, gardener, maid etc.), but those jobs wouldn't be given to unwashed masses either.

My point in my earlier post is that there are certain requirements (besides skills and qualifications) for getting any job. Presentation is one of the major ones. Would you let a gardener onto your property if he looked like a tsotsi? Would you let a dirty streetside beggar shake your hand? Keeping clean costs money (in cities anyway). That's why the poverty stricken are usually unwashed...and unemployed.

I know the above argument is flawed, but I hope you get my drift ;)

I don't understand the fuss.

A boy was given up for adoption, a lady wanted to adopt him, the lady's background check says she will be a suitable mother, the boy gets a family.. That is the perfect story.

So the mother is super rich and famous and the boy has to leave the country that he currently is in.. So what... If I was an orphan and someone wanted to adopt me and take me to a life of wealth, safety and happiness what do you think I would do..

And to all the people saying Madonna should rather help out more children, bugger off.. Why should she? She is free to do with her money whatever she wants. I can bet she gives more money to charity than all the members of this site combined. So until you are doing more for the world stop judging others.

This is the typical British attitude that you see on BBC and I experienced living there. Leave the women alone.

PS: To the idiotic comment about the next fad being giving children up for adoption, seriously think then type...

I'm not a supporter of Madonna, but I do agree each to his/her own...

The kid will never starve and he'll get a good education what he chooses to do with it is up to him that is a huge improvement over the future he'll have in africa. I dnt see a problem.

The father of the Malawian boy adopted by singer Madonna now says he would not have agreed to adoption if he knew it meant giving up his son "for good".

Yohane Banda said adoption services in Malawi had never told him the procedure meant that 13-month-old David would no longer be his son.

From news24

In an interview with Reuters Television in his home village of Lipunga on Saturday, Yohane Banda said Madonna asked that she be able to raise his one-year-old son on his behalf, rather than that the child should become her own.

"I cannot read and write so I relied on what the (government) officials told me that the papers said Madonna would look after the child the way the orphanage planned to educate him and then he comes back to me," Banda said.
