Been using the same 24" samsung since 2009 and it hasn't given issues apart from the bezel screw but that's my own fault.

midgets... it's like asking a man what size boobs he likes, he will say his wife's size even if she is an A cup, don't be a boy be a man!

Just go and try a big 4k screen, play something like RDR2 on it with a good graphics card and it's amazing.
It's also nice for writing emails and surfing the web without endlessly scrolling

Last decade and a half I’ve used a bunch of sizes - 27” 1080p, 42” 1080p, 17.3” 1080p, 24” 1080p, 27” 1440p, 43” 4K and now on 32” 4K/144

I’m super happy now. Monitor is slightly tilted, flat panel. About arms distance away, no eye strain (I did have that on the 43”). Think I could live with 42 inches if it had a good reflective coating and was wall mounted at a nice height.

not exactly, but wireless keyboard & mouse just doesn't work for me, especially for gaming

so ... if your input devices and your monitor are all plugged into the same PC by default they're gonna be relatively close to each other, and the only way you're sitting more than 1m from your monitor is if you have some crazy orangutan arms (or wireless input devices which is a choice, albeit a wrong choice for gaming)
HDMI can extend to several meters. Only reason screen and peripherals are usually close to each other is because traditionally they've been that way for work.

Larger than 34". I have a 42" and it's amazing. For the types of games I play.

I think if you play competitive FPS type games 27" might be the perfect size.

same, Samsung SyncMaster B2330 still going strong after 14 years

I could go slightly bigger, but honestly don't need to
