Yeah, I'm close to what you'd call a Microsoft Fanboy, and damn, the xbox store and app sucks balls. Especially when it has to work with other launchers like EA or Bethesda.
The R15 for 3 months is a great deal though.
Oh wow good memories. The demo disc that came with my PS1 had a Crash Bandicoot demo on it. We played all the demos to death lol, games were expensive back then.
Yeah I'm pretty okay with them as well. They're involved with so many cool technologies, like the mixed reality headset(wish that was aimed more at consumers than businesses) and Project XCloud.
Managed to figure out the installation problem and busy installing Gears 5. Did a long overdue graphics card upgrade recently so I'm going to make my SSDs cry. Maybe Outer Worlds next, or Doom: Eternal.
Even at normal price it's such a good value subscription service.

Yeah, but since it’s a PC/Xbox exclusive I figure MS has a deal with the developers to incentivise going the Game Pass route to play it.

I was already committed to the season pass. Glad to know Ubi has more plans for Valhalla.
My only concern is the scarcity of raw materials. I really want to focus on building Ravensthorpe for now but it seems I can only get raw materials from raids that are on the main map and not from the raid hut? And it seems that the quantity available from the remaining 2 or 3 high-level raids don't come close to what I need to build out the entire town, so not sure how that is supposed to work.

What OS are you running? I recall some drama a while back because only Windows 10 was supported. A lot of time has passed since then though - I assume no one isn't running either 10 or 11 by now.

You do get maps from story as well, I think?
All I know I have more mats than I could use. Everything was leveled up and flesh out and I still have a ton left.
Fixed it by uninstalling XBOX and Store apps, clearing their data, removing game services, running some powershell commands, and reinstalling the apps and then letting XBOX app reinstall game services.

GamePass store/app is really garbage. Sometimes won't install (usually need to update MS store), or you want to play and it refuses to open the game (then you need to re-download). Or you come back to your computer and for some reason it's downloading something (when you have nothing queued) and it'll fill up your hard drive.

Not resources in general - specifically raw materials. I don't seem to get any from raid hut raids, only normal raids on the map (and I only have 2x left with a ton still left to build). When I bought 3x raw materials map icons from the cartographer, the dumbass only labelled raw materials at one of the remaining monasteries at a high-level raid.

I once couldn't play any Game Pass or MS Store games for a couple of months. I tried everything short of reinstalling Windows. Even MS support tried a bunch of stuff with me over the phone, after I'd already tried every solution I could find on Google, Reddit and MS support forums. Eventually Windows 10 had a major update and that fixed the problem.
The downloading with the Xbox app was pretty infuriating too. Speeds were weird and fluctuated a lot, sometimes you'd see download activity and other times you wouldn't, same for whether or not the MS Store reflected the download etc. So janky.
Not that it matters now, since I switched to gaming on Series X only.

Parts of DL:The Following is definitely much tougher than the main game. Getting my ass kicked trying to destroy volatile hives. And there are quite a few of them. After a few attempts I realized it's much easier to go in at nighttime because the most aggressive ones are then out hunting. Still pretty challenging at night though because of all the runners in the hives and there is a countdown timer for when the dangerous volatiles return. Have to get out of there before then.
But it's right up there as one of my favourite DLCs of all time. Blood and Wine still holds the top spot though.

Playing my 1st Watch dogs game. Watch Dogs 2.
Free on both PS+ Extra and GamePass so opted for Xbox Series X.
Seems a tad hectic in the start, so don't know if I should have started with no 1 1st?

The first one is much more difficult than the second one.
The Watch Dogs games could have been so great but for some reason they have the worst unlikable characters ever. I just played the first two and found both to be very mediocre.
They aren't bad, they just aren't that good either.
