What game are you playing now? (Part 2)

We WISH they would react to perceived slights as calmly as the Japanese are to the game in question. Explain their views in such clear and polite terms. You know... Like good and decent people.

The world, and its history for the last 4 thousand years or so would be vastly more humane. Just better. Even present politics would be lightyears better.
Unit 731 would like to have a word.

For some reason I never played them, how is it?
I loved it, hence replaying it. Starting to show its age, there are mods to address these on Nexus tho.

The story is interesting and why I wanted to replay it after playing a bit of Cyberpunk, deals with morality and corporate greed with the underlying theme being about if we can be just and moral people when we have completely removed limitations on abilities through augmentations. Also, corporate espionage and a bit of Illuminati conspiracies.

I must say the director's cut is very different to the launch day version I played years ago. Story line is very much changed.
Like the DLC being now woven in as part of main story, like that I did not need to seek it out.
Naturally progressed into it. Would love it if more games did DLC like this.

Gameplay gives you freedom to approach in different ways, not just one way to solve a problem.
Stealth, hacking, lethal, non-lethal. Try and be a ghost or go in full Rambo. Different paths to take.

Worth a play if you get directors cut on sale.

Still need to play the second one, started playing it back when it released. Did not complete it, can't recall why.
Finished 1st one this weekend, will be starting second one soon.

Why me? :p

Don't know, probably Skyrim/Oblivion, GTA4/5, Cyberpunk, HL2 and Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

It's funny, as someone who also plays a crapload of games (currently installed about 10Tb of games on SSDs in my PC) - other than the Mass Effect trilogy which was awesome back then, those games don't even make my top 30.

Game experience can be highly subjective, on par almost with music preference.

Top5 is also an impossible question, because do you answer "ever" , as in, what was amazing in the 80s and the best experience ever for you, or top games that actually holds up today that someone can install and have a great time with.
One would basically have to go best game year by year, and then go back and see how they held up.

Some games like Witcher 3 which was released 10 years ago holds up much better than a lot of other 10 year old games.

True, some games other people love, I hate. Like Horizon Zero Dawn, all those Soulslike games etc etc.

I answer ever as in best overall experience and games I can still play today and have an amazing time with.

Games from my childhood that I thought were amazing back then (Mario, Sonic, Turtles, Adventure Island) wouldn't even make my top 100 or 200 list today. Games that were once upon a time my absolute #1 favourite games (GTA1, GTA2) are pretty terrible now.

Witcher 3 is in my top 10 or 15 list. Cyberpunk is far better though. Really looking forward to see what CDPR can do next.

I think oldish games like HL2 or Oblivion have aged incredibly well that they still make my top 5 or 10 list today. A bunch of even older games from the 90s still in my top 50 list, mostly classic adventures.

I have so little time for gaming it's not even funny.
My prime was in the late 90's and early 2000's, so I probably have rose-tinted glasses.

For modern it's Elden Ring, BF4, ME3, most others I have not even finished yet.
For oldies it's
Quake, Unreal Tournament, HL1 and Diablo 2, Borderlands 1, Max Payne, Fallout 3

I wish I could still get the 1st Max Payne on steam, its blocked now. So badly want to replay it.
None of the sequels came close to the 1st one.

Started playing Deus Ex Mankind divided last night.
They never fixed the issue with their MSAA implementation.
Kills the fps with any MSAA applied.

Forgot how awesome the trailer for this was.

Put in about 50 hours into Rogue Trader, and I'm gonna drop it now - its just too much for me. Fantastic cRPG tho.

Now I'm going to play as the walking police FATALITY known as RoboCop in Rogue City

Can still get it on Xbox as well:

Personally have 1 & 2 it on PS2, 3 on XBox 360.
