I'm one of the few who thinks The Outer Worlds is a terrible game. I just hated it.
It was.... borderline for me.

Scratched the Fallout 4 itch and I managed to finish it because it's actually not that long a game. Fun per minute wasn't very high though.

I thought i'd stick it out since so many people recommended it and it's very positive on steam.
Was still waiting for the mythical unicorn of enjoyment when it was suddenly finished.

It's becoming the norm now isn't it ?!

So many fails in the past few years ! Sometimes feels like we are the beta testers or optimizers instead of these game publishers doing their ****ing jobs !!

So true, its becoming an annoyance now.

Started Chernobylite and also getting some Fallout vibes from this one.

Each mission gives you a map with lots of "points of interest", where you find enemies, "clues", NPCs and/or loot.
Stuff to loot everywhere which either forces you to go and loot it (since you desperately need it), but it gets painful to loot hundreds of items after having suffered that fate in games like Fallout and Outer Worlds.

At your "base" you build all sorts of crafting stations, power generators, air purifiers, cooking fire, etc - similar to Fallout as well.

Not sure I'd recommend it yet, will try push on.

-
Monster Train keeps me coming back for a quick run every so often while eating or wanting a few minutes of entertainment on the side without having to put focus in.

-

Picked up The Typing of the Dead Overkill again after finishing it years ago.
Still great fun and the old graphics doesn't really bother at all as you're focused on the words/zombies coming at you. I'd recommend doing Motherf*cker difficulty forsure though.

I refunded that filth GTA ! it's like someone developed it on the N64 or something ?!

I was just about to pull the trigger on BF as well .... but not anymore !

Another reason why GamePass works for me.

I get to play the games and see if I like them, if I do, I buy them like I did with The Ascent after just 1 day of play.

Its always third-party games, 99% of the time.

Only games I'm pre-ordering is Elden Ring and GT7.

Got it for the same reasons - great reviews plus I love Fallout. But there just wasn't anything i liked and the game wasn't fun at all. Got pretty far in the game hoping things will improve but eventually gave up and never bothered to finish it.

Any game where you have to aim and shoot sounds horrible with a controller. Don't know how people do it.
Increase sensitivity, get an Elite controller, lots of tricks. It eventually becomes second nature.

It all depends what you got used to first. Those coming from kbm struggle at first. Same with those moving from controller to kbm. I would suck at using kbm - my hand/brain isn't used to looking for buttons around wasd...

You're just so much more in control and have more freedom with a mouse for aiming.

Platformers and fighters etc are better with a controller though but not shooters/rpgs.

Some RPGS manage quite well, depending on type eg: hack & slash vs turn base. For me its the FPS/RTS genre that has issues with controllers.
On FPS: Auto Aim/Target lock/Limited Follow & Snap to target does make controller manageable on console and I can guarantee you if all of those did not exist in one form or another, FPS on console would not be a thing.

Also, I hated Assassins Creed back in the day, but that was cause I tried to play them on PC. Bought AC Origin on a Xbox sale last year... Man was it fun using a controller vs the old KBM, in fact I loved it so much I started from AC1 again, playing the series with new found love. I am mixing in God of War, Ratchet and Clank and what not in-between as to not kill the AC series for me.

My way to pick where to play =
Controller: Hack & Slash like RPGs/Twin stick or Isometric games/3rd person adventure/Racing & Sports
Key + Mouse: FPS/RTS/Turn Based RPGs

Back on Topic Finished AC Freedom Cry last night, ending is meh. Dont know what to pick up next: Halo Inf on PC or Froza 5 on Console. Both installed and ready to go.

The combat was “fine”, but the real issue for me was the looting, had to be ultra precise

I find motion controls are helpful for aiming and shooting with a thumbstick. It's not as fast and pin-sharp as a mouse of course but it also feels great to aim directly at the screen.

Exactly what I use for FPS on Console if I have no other choice :D
You do feel like a nut sitting on a the couch aiming at your TV but it works

Well, in my opinion the gunfights in HL:A were on another level because of the interactivity of proper motion controls. You do trade-off accuracy but the feeling of ducking out from cover, physically aiming at an antlion 20m away and exploding them in one shot is fantastic.

Very unpopular opinion, I did not own a Xbox back in the day and I still do not own a Xbox. But I tried out Halo Infinite since so many people always talk about it, and I came to the conclusion for me that it is extremely boring and bit lackluster.

TTK is super low, literally shoot entire magazine at someone then you still need to melee them to kill them, movements is stiff, assault rifles or any other gun is bad except pistols that is actually good.

But I am guessing this is every Halo person wet dream to play.
