Of course it did :p

Maybe I should rephrase, it's not my type of history. I like Roman and Egyptian history, as well as shortly after like the Crusades. Which is probably why the first two games appealed to me more.

I don't like pirates, native American, wild west or stuff that's just popular for Americans. But apart from that, making the games too big actually did an injustice to their stories...

Just call it what it is, most people don't like the ships, period.

Must admit also did not like them, back when Black flag released. Revisited it this year and actually enjoyed Black Flag. That said, In my mind I was playing "Pirates of the Caribbean" and not Assassins Creed. :)

Been slowly introducing my son to gaming. Started him on Master of Orion Conquer the Stars as it is a really good but simple start to 4X turn based games. Now have started him on WC3TFT and Starcraft doing the single player missions to show him RTS. Been a fun nostalgic ride to do that with him.

As soon as they introduced ships, they ruined AC for me.

It became more about pirate crap and less about reliving ancient history. The ancient history thing is what drew me to the series. Not kark about native Americans or Vikings or pirates. The only one I might go back to is Origins because of this...
I used to think nothing can beat ancient history in AC but then I played Syndicate. Now the most modern AC is actually my favourite I think. Followed very closely by Unity. Always wanted the series to go to ancient Egypt but Origins didn't quite do it for me. Still a great game though.

And yeah the whole pirate thing and naval combat just isn't Assassins Creed imo.

Off subject:
If you into ancient Egypt go check out https://www.youtube.com/c/UnchartedX
Found them recently via a Atlantis rabbit hole... (I Blame Assassins Creed) must admit my whole view on history is kinda wobbly lately

There are more info & links about it but its a great start.

And no its not Aliens. :p

Stardew Valley.
If you like achievement collecting, this could be for you.
Fun so far. The forced sleeping is a pain though

Speaking of AC... I finished Valhalla earlier this year, but diving back in now for the Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris DLCs. I see there's another new cross-over DLC. Cool.

Enjoying getting back into it, smashing people with Mjölnir is fun.

Depends how you launch the game.
I use SKSE so basically after the patch SKSE gives a version error and cannot launch.
This forces all SKSE users to now wait for the SKSE guys to update their exe and hope that all the mods we spent hours to install and get working properly still work after they do.

On Xbox Series console, .all my mods worked, did not even have to change my load order.

Played a bit of Skyrim Anniversary Edition today (free tier) as I did not want to start a new game before my leave next week.

The new updated 1440p @ 60fps on Series S (GamePass) was worth the revisit. In fact, I am actually amazed at what a huge diff the "Next gen" update made. It even looks better than old FPS boost version from before well def better than original Skyrim I use to play back in the day on my PC at 1080p.

Partly was a mistake as I now wanna continue my adventure instead of playing Ghost of Tsushima next week...
Is anniversary edition free? So you say it looks better then the Special edition?

all this AC talk is really making me feel left out, but I am way too cheap (thanks GP-U) to purchase anything at full price

Nice. Knew a special was coming up, they normally do around this time.

I'm on Assassins Creed Odyssey Extended session Day 3

Meant to be a quick play cause I wanted to play the Free DLC that dropped this December, before going to Valhalla. Apparently some nana, stopped playing just before he entered Elysium so never knew there was this hole new world out to explore.

Guess Valhalla can wait.

Edit: Oh crap still need to do Underworld & Atlantis after this:

OK guess what I am doing this holiday.

COD4X Promod, the old one haha. Competitive FPS games have felt pretty lackluster lately, so it feels refreshing to play something golden.

If anyone wants to join, we've hosted a ZA server, it should show up in the server browser as Ghostfibre Promod Test

Taken a break to catch up on series/movies (The Matrix Trilogy, and there's Umbrella Academy S2, Lost in Space S2/S3, Wheel of Time, Hawkeye).
I did buy Assassin's Creed Standard Edition for 3 pounds off Uplay along with the Season Pass for The Division.

Guess I need to finish StarCraft Remastered first. That's for leave.

Finished Siege of Dragonspear this weekend and I'm finally done with BG1. Was great. Not sure when I'll start BG2EE though. Sometime next year...

Aaand Finish.
Nice Wrap up of the story on AC Odyssey with the latest patch, and like I said before, only thing that kills AC tempo and story is the modern time line garbage.

Anyway on to Ghost of Tsushima.... Directors cut.
