What game have you bought and after playing it, realised you have wasted your money?

I bought it in '04, ran it on full graphics on a P4 2.8, 1GB RAM and a Ti4200 128MB...

that's amazing.
I still can't get a great frame rate using a 2.16 Core Duo.

U set the weather, clouds etc at their highest levels?

Yip... I should actually try it again on my new pc, see how it runs on multiple monitors (if that's possible)...

You probably have been to most of these sites, but this is where I got of most my addons from.

Aircraft I liked were the
Cheetah
Impala
Mirage 2000, F1 and III http://www.mirage4fs.com/
Yak 52
Mig 29
ERJ 135 (SAA fly them)

Lots of SA Scenery to download, grids and airfields.
(Some addons hog resources as you'll see)
Also Misty Fjords, if u can get, it is brilliant.

http://www.avsim.com/
http://www.simradar.com/
http://www.surclaro.com/ (Best site)
http://www.scenery.org/

I have around 0.5 to 1GB of updates and addons for mine, some of them didn't work too well (missing graphics, etc). Will take a look at these though.

Damn... now you made me install the game again...

When I had all the SA airports, the SA maps (esp the CT one with a nice Table Mountain)
I enjoyed taking off from Ysterplaat with a Cheetah or Impala, flying around the peninsula and doing a coastwise flight to George or Plet.

Just add lots of AI traffic, Boeings, clouds etc.:)

Wow. Some of my favourite games have been mentioned so far: KOTOR, Orange Box, Bioshock, Mass Effect... They were all great games.

Worst buys I've had so far:

Ultima IX. - It was impossible to finish due to bugs. So disappointing.
Serious Sam 2 - It lost the charm of the first one.
The Tainted - I so wanted to like this. South African developer, action rpg, unfortunately it sucked so bad.

Can't believe so many of you fell for Spore. You all should be ashamed of yourselves :p

 I fell for it. Solidly. Sold it about 3 weeks later.

+1 on these, luckily I followed my instincts and tested these out before even thinking of buying them:
Someone also mentioned that Streets of LA - Worst port ever.
Another game where I got saved by testing it out first, was the epic failure that was SimCity Societies

Hey, there are nothing wrong with these games!! :
The Sims (PC)
Splinter Cell (PC)
Age of Empires (PC)
Flight Sim 2004: A century of flight (was damn expensive in it's day and wasn't even that interesting... also only 20-odd planes)
darwinia: original and all, but overrated

All the games made by introversion rocks. In my opinion in any case, can play their games for hours on end without becoming bored. Just a shame one cannot buy all of them locally in retail stores. I owe them quite a lot of buys still.

Then someone mentioned The Orange box? Excuse me, but WTH? That was the best R150 (on special at Pick 'n Pay) I spent in my life. Ever.

GTA IV falls in at #2 as my best buy ever. Runs smooooothly on my PC. :D

+5 on orange box! getting 5 of the best fps's for the price of 1
I would have bought any of those games separately.

Yea, I was thinking about grabbing more copies at that price for friends, but did not have enough cash with me. Portal alone was worth that R150 for me - given how short it is. Best dark humour I have ever seen in a game.

But I guess not everyone likes the type(s) of games everyone else likes.

On PC:

Delta Force: Task Force Dagger (it was so pathetic that one could be forgiven for feeling that the game was part of a Leon Schuster setup)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (directly ported from console ... a terrible mess)
