What game have you bought and after playing it, realised you have wasted your money?

Spore isn’t for everyone, but like Sims I can understand why some people like it.
At least it’s original and ambitious. That alone imo is 4 out of 5 stars in the gaming world these days.

COD4??? Man I am not the biggest fan of FPS but I thought this was one of the best shooters I've played since HalfLife 1.

Worst buy ever for me was NWN 2...I loved and finished number 1 and all the expansions. I paid close on R500 for the f...ing collectors edition, the dumbest thing EVER! the Pewter ring with the choatic evil and NWN on couldn't be worn on even the fattest slobs thumb! It could have been used as a cock ring for a porn star! Oh and the game sucked the ass of a giant monkey...so sad (can you tell I'm still pissed off? ;p)

COD4 was awesome.
I still play R6V2 terrorist hunts and enjoy it still. This game had glitches but it's for sure not one of the worst games of the year in my books.

I tried out both a few months after I strated playing Crysis MP online earlier this year. There has just not been a game yet that can offer what Crysis has in its PowerStruggle game mode.

I think the single biggest thing I dont like about COD4 is that it was created for the masses that like logging into a server and shooting a couple of oaks. In Crysis you need a bit more than that. Also, Crysis maps have so much more to offer.

Nosferatu (I like obscure games but this thing just sucked)
From Dusk till Dawn (again read above reason)

Morrowind (I like structured story lines, not endless walking and walking, looking for something to do)
Dracula 3 : Path of the dragon (The first two was very good, the last one sucked)
Any sports, simulation or strategic game

At R350+ per game it is vital to check online reviews (and play demos) before buying anything. I never buy a game unless I've done some homework. I will go online to gamerankings.com on my phone in the shop before I buy.

The SIMS 2 - sucked for me, bought it just after it came out, played it for about an hour. I had The SIMS and all the addons, which I liked, but not this one.

CSI - Only played a demo, that sucked big time.

Regarding FS2004, is one of my favourite in the FS series. But as was said, they generally need hardware that is 5 years in the future. I bought the ERJ-135, operated by South African Airlink, that is an excellent aircraft.

The jury is still out on FS X, but my system is a bit dated, so I am not going to blame the simulator for that. I am planning on upgrading my system this year, and will give FS X another go then.

I bought FS2004 back in 2004 and could run it on full graphics on a P4 2.8, 1GB RAM and a 128MB graphics card.
I got FSX recently and am able to run it at high graphics on a E8400 with a Intel 4500HD (32MB dedicated, 1024 shared)- and that's on a 22" screen.
