I'm pretty sure a lot of the old dogs on here accepted that this is just another site driven by traffic numbers and not community driven help and discussion. All the reposts and "massive" clickbait articles draw a different audience than what was more serious discussion points in the past. You get the same thing on reddit and other discussion platforms which is usually fine as long as you stay in the non clickbait areas of the platforms.
