Pretoria is swarming these days with the more portable laser cameras. They lurk and stalk you from all angles. I think the fixed camera’s were getting to expensive to operate.
Shall have to wait and see how many of the new trapping devices are operational after the rain season and man/woman handling by the Metro.
This is exactly what is happening. I was just noticing this very thing when passing the point on the Danie Joubert Freeway where they used to be opposite the Makro in Centurion, and when I looked up, the bastards were targeting me with a portable laser unit from the Irene Bridge.
Do they still take photos as well or did they decide it will bring in more money when we have no evidence of their mistakes anymore?
What the metro has failed to realise is that speed cameras are not there to make money but to ensure people slow down by their presense.
Typical that they arn't acutally interested in making people slow down and abide by the law but in getting more money from fines to pay for whatever it is that this money gets spent on (christmas bonuses no doubt).
If they actually put as much effort into enforcing the rules of the road as they do into padding their pockets the roads would be a lot safer to travel on.
