Perhaps someone could explain to this noob why, if it's a legal issue, NH or BF can't just be hosted on an overseas server? Local only hosting isn't as necessary as it used to be in the days of Telkom's local access special...

Where it is hosted isn't the legal issue here. It's clearly for SA folks. It's like saying someone like media24 isn't liable for anything incorrect they could post on their news site because it is hosted in another country because it's run on AWS or something.

I think the issue here is that certain departments and/or agencies became aware of this site due to that Twitter account spreading crap to them directly. And of course idiots that work at agencies like that aren't very smart at understanding pointing to something and hosting something.

Anyways, heart broken been with NH since they started had a rocky start at the beginning but learned to love the community specially the forums. All that info/advice on mutliple topics threads gone, without even giving people a strait up mail/warning saying well guys this is it we are gone were not comming back blah blah. Not even looking for a why, just a mail that says we are down apologies see ya later :/

Not even sure why I'm commenting on this, some peeps had awesome stuff to share from creating games, to making home automation tutorials and 3d printing info etc was so interseted since I want to get in to these things in the near future finally

oh well, if anyone from NH(locals) creates a new forum for interesting hobbies/chitchat etc and the like please ping me on here, my handle was wess, not the bestest rep forumite ever :'(
