NewsHost closed their invites long ago. Ask yourself why any other private site would want you!?!

Why are you so spiteful? The NH users weren't in charge of when invites were open. Be careful about being so smug, buddy, because anyone could drop an e-mail to Naspers/Multichoice with nzbsa's url with some screenies and ingem*****'s real name.

A little bit of spite is all it took to end NH.

To all the doubting Thomas's out there, NW has gone through this exactly before and came out the other side, lets just wait and see.
I think a contributing to their legal cost could go along way to help their cause.
"The only way out is through" Good luck to all of them, may the force be with them.

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand all of this.

As I understand it, Newshost provided an index to usenet content, not the copyrighted content itself. Why then are they shut down? By that token, Google also indexes a tonne of copyrighted content, and they continue to operate.

The notice reads:

This site has been taken down by the Southern Africa Federation Against Copyright Theft for activities deemed unlawful as contemplated in terms of the Copyright Act, 1978 (Act 98 of 1978) and/or the Counterfeit Goods Act, 1997 (Act 37 of 1997.)
A person convicted of certain offence under sections of these Acts shall be liable -
(a) in the case of a first conviction, to a fine not exceeding five thousand rand or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years or to both such fine and such imprisonment, for each article to which the offence relates;
(b) in any other case, to a fine not exceeding ten thousand rand or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years or to both such fine and such imprisonment, for each article to which the offence relates.

With a SAFACT animated .MP4 logo that is hosted on the domain that was processed with HandBrake v 1.0.2 Build 2017012200.

Odd that it does not read 'Southern African Federation Against Copyright Theft'...

Even internationally that is a grey area, it falls int eh context of aiding and abetting
