Iburst is OK with Guild Wars, (touch wood)

Hi

I have been playing Guild wars for 360 hours (scary, I know).

Anyway, of those 360 hours I have been playing GW via ISDN 128Kb for about 250 hours. ISDN was a pleasure but too expensive. Since then I have been playing via IBurst.

For about 20 hours of the remaining 110 hours I played using only my IBurst modem. Using only my modem was slow and not really acceptable. (7KB download speed average)

I installed a directional antenna and now my average download speed is between 25KB/s and 35KB/s.

Guild Wars is a pleasure now.
note: I have had another friend with a GW account also play at the same time via ICS on my connection without a problem.
interstingly enough, when I need to download updates or new maps, it uses full speed, and isn't subject to the supposed 64Kb shaping limit reported on the WBS web site... (does this mean it uses port 80 or HTTP to download?)

my blog tries to detail my Telkom replacement, selection and installation process.

Setup Configuration:
Windows 2000, connecting via ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on another W2k machine which is connected via UTD Ethernet (10M cable) Pointed at Roodekrans tower. Signed up through Tradepage.net.
Unable to test speed because Iconnect and Iconnect C# don't work on my W2k box yet(will be testing new version sent to me by SeBurn :) )
