what is Pretoria zoo like nowdays

We go once a year around this time.
They upgrade it constantly.

It is huge so basically you have to decide what you want to see as you won't be able to see it all.

If you want get a golf cart for a couple of hours (Usually we walk in the morning, golf cart in the afternoon if any are available then aquarium and reptiles in the evening before we go home).

Definitely a world class zoo.

Not cheap (was about R250 an hour last year far as I remember).

Yep but people do it anyway so they can do that with the price. Actually worth it for the more distant displays. Also fits around 4...

If the cable car still works, would it not be better to use it to get across the zoo and then walk back? Just a thought.

Too big to simply walk back, cable cars help though if you plan well.

I was there just over a week ago, but early in the morning so it was quiet. As it got later, people started arriving, not quiet in droves, but was a fair amount of people.

There is parking just next to the entrance, but it fills up quickly as there is not much space, there is then overflow parking across the road with security and everything.

Can't really say which day specifically is quieter, think this weekend is going to be busy on either day.

Ate the pie at lunch, lucky for you!

Still a nice place to visit, but be warned there are road works. Just be vigilant as it is a major taxi route, some intersections are closed.
