GOD:
Some thing, made something where there was previously nothing.

Or

SCIENTIFIC THEORY:
There was nothing, and then some thing was made from nothing to become something.

"There was nothing" - Scientific Experts
"Nothing" in the sense of, "there was no universe around, then there was"?

Of course, there's no way of knowing if this is a true statement. We don't even know if there was a singularity. If there was, it may have been there for an infinite amount of time before time was no longer = 0.

I think he is relying on the position posited by Lawrence Krauss, which is the same position taken in the original clip

No. Not Christian so not a Westerner. The West just don't exist in any meaningful way anymore. Now it is just a bunch of secular governments with no real, shared, core values.
You mean the West that has shrugged off the yoke of your paedophile god? And delivered the technology that you are using right now?

That's something.

What is space? What is time / the change we perceive as time?
What is energy? How did these things give rise to matter and the universe?

Maybe we should find that out first, then worry about what came before the expansion.

these are all just things, including the universe itself

Maybe we should find that out first, then worry about what came before the expansion.
I doubt this was the discussion at any point in time.

Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime.

What is energy? How did these things give rise to matter and the universe?
This is fairly well known, a quick Google will give you the answers :)

The smart ones know that already.
