my 1st car.
Opel Kadett Cub 1.3 4speed
back in those days you were judged if you had colour coded bumpers and headrests on the seats and a 5 speed gearbox, as well as spotlights, i had none
Bought it for R6500 with 220 000 km on the clock in 1994 (was a 1990 model)
Drove 60 000km a year with it for 3 years at flatout speed in the red line (literally 170km/h) everyday covering the entire western cape as i was a field engineer then.
Only reason i sold it coz i moved to UK back then. Never onced serviced it except oil and oil filter change every 20k km - viva Opel
I remember when back to the future had just come out, and me being young asked my dad innocently, dad, how can the car drive without wheels?
my dad said stop being stupid, cars cant drive without wheels, and then I said that car in the movie could without wheels.
and then I showed my dad somebody had stolen both our wheels on the passenger side, and left the car on bricks.
so from the drivers side it looks okay, but then from the passenger side, both wheels were gone,
and it wasnt like fancy rims or something, ordinary steelies, and standard tires.
Owned it for 6 years... Drove it from 100k km to 290k km and never have any hassles with software and DP and intake. Brilliant car with excellent power. Never let me down! Sold it perfect... No smoking nothing.
Owned it fr 3 years bought it from a dealer, car hasn't missed a beat still drives and smells like the day I got her, its not heavy on gas but its not light either for a 2.0. and is very cheap to maintain and hasn't broken anything since I had it.
This would be my current car. 2006 Corsa C 1.4 Sport. Rear wheel bearings done at 290000km, clutch at 355000km and is currently on 391000km. Super reliable and everything still works and that includes the aircon.
