If I had another pet I'd personally just avoid any company that feels the need to add color to their food. My pet doesn't need red, green and blue food - it needs quality, nutritional ingredients.

Hence why I made this thread i want to know what is the beast quality and nutritional correct food I can give them.

So far Royal Canin looks like the only one worthy

Hills

True, after Royal Canine's & Vet's Choice being contaminated with melamine more than a decade ago we only purchase Hills. I think Royal Canine had close to a dozen recalls in 2006/2007 and a number of class actions. Not quite sure if there was ever a conclusion how the pet food was contanimated.

I only feed them hills and for treats feed them wet food like whiskas.
Remember that the food sold in shops like Pnp are fuill of crap like salt which is bad for them.
I went through this with a cat that died

Wet food like that is like steers or macdonalds for us, according to the vet.

Get something that is recommended by a vet, wet and dry

Our lilac point Siamese has a urinary tract problem. So we found Hills which is specially made for urinary tract problems. After a few weeks and medication, our baby got better and was able to pee normally.

You can only get it at a vet, and surprisingly it is not that much more expensive. But I would say the really best food is the food from a vet. If you buy in 5kg for pellets then it works out marginally more expensive for Hills. The other brand is Ecanuba or something but I think they only make dog food. Haven't touched another food since, the vet also said the normal brands are rubbish. I was skeptical because the vet wants to make money by selling their own product, but after seeing the results I trust them.

Our cat Phoebe only eats IAMS. Once in a while she gets some tuna.

Hills.

One of my kitties has a sensitive tummy and she has no problems with Hills, so I'd recommend them any day.

The GFs cat is on the Hills I/d because she also has a sensitive stomach - any other food and she vomits everywhere.

I'd say Hills / Royal Canin would be your best option.

I give my very spoilt cat Hills Natural Balance - it has less carbs than the Hills Science plan. I also give him wet food in the morning and evening (I alternate between Weruva and Hills Natural Balance tins)

According to our breeder it is very important for male cats to get wet food, otherwise they are prone to get UTIs and kidney issues.

No need to feed your furballs food from a bag. Go to local butcher and get a few kilos of different fish, and get quality milk. My last cat lived for 15 years on this diet and was a walking menace.

Eukenuba = dog food; Iams = cat food. Same company and manufacturer
