What is the better car insurance for female student.

Hi all.

I just bought my daughter a 2011 Fiat 500 for varsity. What will be the best and most cost efficient insurance to choose from. I need to register the car but am not quite sure what will be the best option. My name. Her name or moms name. The reason for asking this is because of the First for woman insurance. My daughter will obviously be the main driver. Thanx everyone and appreciate all inputs.

I would think on her name it would be very expensive as she is a new driver, insurance will see her more as a risk. It maybe cheaper on your name. If you are currently insured why not call your insurance for a quote to add it to your existing policy?

Phone them and ask them.

Whatever you do, don't lie to them. Tell them your daughter is the main driver, no matter who owns the car. I suspect ownership won't make a massive difference to the cost of insurance but I could be wrong.

It's usually cheaper if you put everything in the family under the same insurance.

did mine with discovery for my daughter - first time driver, so i kept the insurance on my name and made her the primary driver. didn't make a difference with the premium. Make sure that with whom ever you go to be very specific about who the primary driver is, where the car is parked day and night. I have heard horror stories of cars being stolen or written off and the insurance companies stepping back because of little details
